Anxiety Therapy

Has anxiety become a tornado wreaking havoc in your life?

You’re Successful.
So Why Do You Feel So Out of Control?

To others it seems like you’ve got it all together. You’ve built a career, people respect you, and by all accounts, you’re doing well. But underneath the surface it's a different story.

Anxiety has taken over.

No matter how much you accomplish, it’s never enough. Your mind never stops racing. You second-guess every decision. You’re constantly bracing for something to go wrong. And no matter how hard you swim, you’re pulled further from the shore.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You’re always waiting for disaster to strike.

Even when things are fine, you can’t relax. You have this nagging feeling that something is about to go wrong—you just don’t know what.

YOUR TO DO LIST IS NEVER ENDING.

At work and at home, there’s always more to do. The dishes, the emails, the deadlines, the bills, the calls you still haven’t returned. It feels like you’re constantly sprinting just to stay in place.

DECISION MAKING IS EXHAUSTING

You analyze every angle, weigh every risk, and still can’t commit. You’re terrified of making the wrong choice—so you stall, run it by other people, or avoid deciding altogether.

You’re afraid of letting people down

You hold yourself to an impossible standard, and when you fall short, the guilt is crushing. You worry that if people really knew how overwhelmed you feel, they’d be disappointed—or worse, lose respect for you.

You’re running on fumes

You’ve been operating in survival mode for so long that exhaustion feels normal. You tell yourself you’ll slow down once things calm down—but they never do.

You’re afraid of losing control

The thought of breaking down in front of others—having a panic attack at work, showing weakness in a meeting, or freezing under pressure—keeps you locked in hyper-vigilance.

Your world is shrinking

The things that used to excite you now feel like obligations. Social events, hobbies, even simple plans feel like too much. You used to thrive under pressure—now, you just want to escape.

YOU CAN FEEL CALM & IN CONTROL

Anxiety doesn’t have to run the show.

You can still be driven and ambitious without feeling like you’re unraveling in the process. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through this.

FAQs

  • In the beginning we will take time to get to know one another. You can tell me about your life and the unique ways that anxiety is a part of your day to day. We can examine this together and determine what factors may be contributing & get to the root of the issue. Together we can challenge the negative patterns that cause your suffering and help you feel more calm and in control of your life.

  • We meet together once per week at the start, but we can meet more often if we decide together that you need more support. Brief coaching calls in between sessions may also be a helpful touchpoint throughout the week.

  • We talk about both. You are experiencing pain in the here and now, and so we need to deal with the challenges you currently face. But you are also a person who has developed patterns over the course of your life, and has collected countless memories that shape your view of yourself and others. We don’t talk about the past for the past’s sake. We explore how the past is living in the present.

  • The time frame varies from person to person. It can depend on the severity of symptoms and the commitment to the therapy process. Many clients find that in order to treat their anxiety, they have to make real changes in their lives, such as finding a new job, limiting unhealthy relationships, or improving their self-esteem. These changes may take some time, but can powerfully change the course of your life.

  • Yes. I don’t assign homework or teach specific coping techniques, such as journaling, meditation, or breathing, although I can certainly point you in the direction of those resources. What I do is help you to better understand the how, when, and why of your anxiety and to help you respond to it in ways that feel unique to your personality and your particular situation, whether that is setting relationship boundaries, implementing a better work-life balance, or even reaching out to me for in-between session support. The coping strategies you learn will arise organically from the content in our sessions.

  • There are certain anxiety or related disorders that feel more like an emergency. These may include obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, or body focused repetitive behaviors that are better treated with a more structured therapy such Exposure Response Prevention or other cognitive behavioral approaches. In our initial phone consultation, we can discuss if you may need a treatment like this and I will provide you with a referral to a competent provider in that field.
